04.17. 22 – New Website

Well, the old site was about to be lost so I transferred what I had to here. I’m actually feeling pretty inspired to get back in the apothecary by all of this so it feels like pretty darn good timing. Of course, I’m still making but not really researching and experimenting much these days. I feel like that big old nasty COVID 19 global pandemic changed what a lot of people were doing. Otherwise, perfectly reasonable folks refusing vaccinations and things like that have made me wary of some of the community. I’m not gonna solve that problem by typing here.

05.28.22 Vocal Ease

Jennifer needed a vocal ease refill so I ordered what I needed and whipped it together today. I’ve never liked that it’s so heavily based on essential oils. They just don’t sta dispersed or have the lasting power that an herbal version would have. So I got the spare ingredients to work on an herbal batch as well. I’m going to infuse the Aloe Juice with Lemon. Since this is the most volatile of the ingredients I think adding the acidity of the lemon will be helpful. It can also take the water from fresh lemons and I won’t have to worry about compromising one of the preservatives. For the clove, I’m going with an alcohol tincture. That should be powerful. Last but not least I’m going to increase the peppermint content by making peppermint glycerin. I think I won’t use all 5 ounces as peppermint glycerine but it will be interesting to test the strength.
