EO Scent Blends

Bloom Essential oil scent blend

This blend is called Bloom, and the name came easily once it was finished. It is soft, open, and quietly expansive. Not bright in a citrus way and not heavy in a grounding way. Bloom sits somewhere in the middle, where ease and warmth meet.

This is a scent blend rather than a functional remedy. It was created to smell good, to feel pleasant in a space, and to invite a gentle shift in atmosphere without asking anything of the body. Bloom is the kind of blend that works equally well in the background of a busy day or during a slower, more reflective moment.

Lavender makes up the majority of the blend, and it shows. It provides a familiar, calming base that keeps everything else from becoming sharp or overwhelming. Clary sage adds a soft herbal depth that feels steady and slightly musky, helping the blend feel rounded rather than floral-forward. Atlas cedar anchors the scent just enough to give it structure, while still allowing it to stay light. Jasmine appears in the smallest amount, but it matters. It lifts the blend and gives it a quiet sense of openness without turning it sweet or perfumed.

Together, these oils create a scent that feels like early morning light or the moment when something tight finally loosens.

Blend Ratio

1 part jasmine
5 parts atlas cedar
5 parts clary sage
20 parts lavender

Blend thoroughly and store in a dark glass bottle away from heat and light.

How I Use It

I use my scent blends across a wide range of preparations. Bloom works beautifully in bath salts, soaps, candles, oil burners, and diffusers. When diluted properly, it also makes a lovely anointing oil or personal scent. I enjoy blends like this most when they are allowed to move through different forms, letting the same scent show up in subtle ways throughout a space or a routine.

Bloom is not a blend I reach for when I need a strong or directive effect. It is one I return to when I want my surroundings to feel a little softer and more welcoming.

A Few Gentle Notes

Because this is a scent blend, its purpose is enjoyment and atmosphere rather than outcome. If you find yourself wanting more brightness, a touch more jasmine can lift it further. If you want it to feel deeper or quieter, increasing the cedar slightly will shift it in that direction. Scent is personal, and Bloom is forgiving.

Sometimes the role of a blend is simply to make a space feel good to be in. Bloom does exactly that.
