These numbers help put nettle’s reputation into perspective. This is not simply an herb containing trace amounts of many nutrients. Eaten as a cooked green, nettle can make a meaningful contribution to several of them.
That helps explain why herbalists classify nettle as a nutritive herb. Rather than producing one forceful effect, nutritive herbs supply materials the body can use to maintain and restore itself. Their influence is often gradual because nourishment itself is gradual.
